About Matcham Holgate Brigade
The brigade is part of the NSW Rural Fire Service, one of 19 brigades in the Gosford District, and is a public volunteer organisation operating by the statutes of a formal constitution. There are currently around 20 active members of the brigade. All members of the brigade are volunteers, and live in the local area.

Matcham Holgate is referred to as a dual Rural and Village brigade, and there are approximately 700 homes within the brigade's local area.

Brigade Operations
The brigade is managed by the Captain, Senior Deputy and 2 Deputies. Various operational and support roles are held by members of the brigade. Brigade members are on call 24x7, and as volunteers may respond at their choice.

Brigade Administration
The Brigade holds monthly meetings on the 4th Thursday (except December), with an Annual General Meeting in July. The monthly meeting reviews and discusses the business and operating affairs of the brigade, and is open to the public. The Brigade is administered by the roles of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

Local Area
The brigade’s local area includes the ridges and valleys of Matcham & Holgate, as well as extending to Springfield and Mt Elliot (Katandra Reserve). It is bounded north-south by The Ridgeway and Central Coast Highway, and east-west by Wambina Reserve and Katandra Reserve.

Adjoining Gosford RFS brigade areas are Narara to the west and Wamberal to the east. Nearby NSW Fire & Rescue brigades include Terrigal, Kincumber and Wyoming. North of the Ridgeway is Wyong Shire, known by the RFS as The Lakes District.
